Etymology

From the adverbial form of ゆたさん【宜さん】 yutasan "good". Calque on the standard Japanese expression よろしく【宜しく】 yoroshiku "please (take care of)".

Notes

Although the expression ゆたしくうにげーさびら yutashiku unigee sabira is popular today, some consider it more proper to say ゆたさるぐとぅうにげーさびら yutasaru gutu unigee sabira "pleased to meet you".
