Notes

Contrary to the standard Japanese pronoun おれ ore, the Kagoshima form おい oi is not limited to (young) boys. Rather, it is more neutral sounding and may be used by people of all ages to the same extent as わたし【私】 watashi or ぼく【僕】 boku.
