ぶしゅう・むしゅう【武刕】

bushuu · mushuu

Definition

Name

  1. (Nickname) Musashi Province

Etymology

Hyōgaiji spelling variant of the modern form ぶしゅう【武州】 bushuu, a nickname given to the Musashi Province. The word is coined off the first syllable of さしのくに【蔵国】 musashi no kuni "Musashi Province". The kanji 【武】 then acquires the Sino-Japanese pronunciation ぶ bu due to being suffixed with the Sino-Japanese word しゅう【州】 shuu "province".

Notes

Historically, the Musashi Province encompassed the modern prefectures of Tokyo and Saitama, as well as a part of Kanagawa.

意味:むさしのくに【武蔵国】、ぶしゅう【武州】
