Closely related to Hyogo べーこ beeko; Tottori べーべのこ beebenoko; Shimane めーのこ meenoko; Shimane, Kagawa, Nagasaki and Oita べべんこ bebenko; and Kagoshima and Miyazaki べぶんこ bebunko "calf". Derived from [root], the genitive particle の no or ん n, and the diminutive suffix 【子】 ko.
