Etymology

Cognate to the standard Japanese noun おまえ【お前・御前】 omae. Attested as early as in the Okinawan language dictionary (1896), by Masayo Nakamoto.

Notes

Though common in the 19th and early 20th centuries, this term no longer appears to be in use.
