Etymology

Ultimately of Sinitic origin, from either 【捲餅・卷餅・卷饼】 "rolled wheat pancake" (cf. Mandarin juǎnbǐng; Cantonese gyun2 beng2) or【煎餅】 "jianbing (fried egg pancake)" (cf. Mandarin jiānbǐng; Cantonese zin1 beng2; Hokkien chian-piáⁿ).
