Etymology
Derived from the imperative きばれ【気張れ】 kibare followed by the emphatic particle よ yo. Cognate to the Yoron variant きばりょー kibaryoo; Kagoshima きばい kibai "do your best; keep at it"; Aomori けっぱれ keppare; Yamagata きんばれ kinbare; and standard Japanese きばれ kibare "go all out".
