Etymology

Cognate to Amakusa (Kumamoto), Nagashima (Kagoshima) and Tanegashima (Kagoshima) だくま dakuma; and Kagoshima だんま danma "freshwater shrimp; freshwater prawn". Also cognate with Nagasaki だくま dakuma "Japanese lobster (sp. Metanephrops japonicus)".
