Cognate to the pan-Ryukyuan form ゆだ yuda; the Setouchi (Amami) form えな ena; the Amami variants いぇだ yeda and よだ yoda; the Nakijin (Kunigami) form ゆだー yudaa; the Okinawan variant いだ・いぃだ・ゐだ yida; the Yonaguni form どぅだ duda; and the standard Japanese term えだ【枝】 eda "(tree) branch; bough", dialectally and historically pronounced [jeda] yeda.
Notes
The pronunciation [ida] is attested in several areas of eastern Miyako, including Irabu, Oura, Koma and Karimata. Elsewhere, the form ゆだ yuda [juda] or [jʊda] is used.
