Etymology

Derived from the auxiliary verb おじゃる ojaru (considered an archaism in standard Japanese) meaning "to come, to enter, to be", and the imperative form of the honorific auxiliary たもんす tamonsu (variants include たもす tamosu and たもる tamoru).
