Expression

  1. An expression used when greeting someone: "Hello", "Good day", "Nice to see you".

Possibly related to the standard Japanese construction おめにかかりません【お目にかかりません】 o-me ni kakarimasen "to not meet". Alternatively related to the Kansai (esp. Osaka) expression もうかりまっか【儲かりまっか】 moukarimakka, literally "How's business?", but more broadly used as a greeting equivalent to "Hello" or "How are you doing?".
