Cognate to the pan-Ryukyuan pronoun わん【我ん】 wan, possibly derived from the Amami dialects. Related to the Japanese pronouns わ【我・吾】 wa and われ【我・吾・我れ・吾れ】 ware "I, me; you; oneself", among others. And cognate to the dated pronoun わぬ【我・吾】 wanu "I, me, myself".
