- 仏壇。先祖代々の位牌をまつってある壇。仏像はないのが普通。たんすの形のものもあるが,多くは家に戸棚のように作りつけてある。

- お仏壇。祖先の位牌を安置する壇。士族の家では,普通,幅1間のものが作り付けられていて,三段の供物台がある。仏像はない。
