Cognate to standard Japanese しょうまん【小満】 shouman "the eighth solar term". Ultimately from Chinese 【小滿・小满】 "grain full" (cf. Mandarin xiǎomǎn; Cantonese siu2 mun5; Korean 소만 soman; and Vietnamese tiểu mãn).
